ABOUT
Cedric Dent, Jr was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He discovered a profound love for photography in 2021, with a passion for capturing the beauty and resilience in everyday life within the African American community. Through his work, Cedric aims to provide people with a reflection of themselves in a positive light, amplifying the dignity and humanity of everyday moments. Most of his photography is captured on film, which he develops in the darkroom, creating silver prints that carry a timeless, personal touch.
In addition to his creative work, Cedric is a licensed social worker who graduated in May 2022 with a degree in Social Work. He specializes in trauma-informed care for marginalized communities, combining empathy with expertise to support healing and growth. Cedric is also a certified yoga instructor, having completed his 200-hour training at Free To Be Power Yoga in New Orleans, where he integrates mindfulness and wellness practices into both his professional and personal life.
